``Over 100 guests filled the 1881 New York City Landmark Sanctuary of Historic Manhattan Seventh-day Adventist Church to hear the premier performance of The Flute Choir of New York, under the direction of Nicolas Duchamp. Ten flutist's performed outstanding works by Pachelbel, Saint-Saens, Vivaldi, Mozart and an energetic finally composed by Rossini from The Barbier de Seville Overture.
The audience applauded for over two minutes, at the conclusion of this simply amazing group of New York City musicians, who first joined to make beautiful music this past September, under the direction of Nicolas Duchamp.``

THE STORY OF THE CREATION OF THE FLUTE CHOIR OF NEW YORK BY NICOLAS DUCHAMP
Ever since I relocated from France to NYC my dream had been to organize a flute ensemble similar to the one I taught at the Conservatory of Music in Paris..
And then, after long planning, on September 7th, 2014, FLUTE CHOIR OF NEW YORK was "born "!
My dream had become reality and a collective adventure began!
The importance of regular attendance and dedication is the key to making FLUTE CHOIR OF NEW YORK a successful ensemble.
FLUTE CHOIR OF NEW YORK is not a professional choir but some of its members are. As we learn with each other, we should do it patiently and respectfully.
Our goal is to reach a high level of performance by refinings our listening skills and bringing sensitivity in our musical expression.
And last...but not least... playing in the ensemble should be an enjoyable and fun experience for All!
Please, no food allowed in the rehearsal room !
Special thanks to : MaryAnn Tu for coordination rehearsal time between the New York Flute Club and FLUTE CHOIR OF NEW YORK
Denise Koncelik and Nina Attar for assisting in organizational matters.
